The Puyan River Gallery
The majority of images in this gallery, and especially those of forest trekking and the villages of the Puyan, were taken during the five year period 2013-2017, with the author’s trusty Nikon D80. Quite a number, however, were sourced from pictures that he took in Pahang, such as of animals and insects and some plants, in the years 2008-2012. A number of pictures suffer from softness due to fungus in the lens, from 2010-2013 (keeping a camera in a bag during the wet season is a bad idea!). Persevering with such poor equipment was a really regrettable mistake as so many pictures are irreparable. On several occasions, he was stuck with only a video camcorder, and thus, some really essential frames were taken from that, such as the headman of Pos Goob's portrait, who he never managed to photograph properly, and the quality is not flattering. More pictures were added from recent photography, taken in the forest near Pinchong with his D7200, and especially of plant and bamboo species, during the preparation of the book layout, in the years 2021-2022.
